We don't have 4 seasons over here in Singapore, we pretty much have a Spring/Summer season 365 days a year! That doesn't mean I don't love making a pretty Spring-y project whenever I get the chance. Here is a box I altered to WELCOME SPRING, featuring Maya Road's butterfly chipboards and bright fresh Spring colors! I think a content of a nest of chocolate eggs inside this box would make a wonderful gift to a special someone!
Here are some tips for you to recreate this box.
The butterfly chipboard pieces I used on this box are pages from the Butterfly Accordion Album and Butterfly Coaster. The latter has an embossed first page, which I used on this box. The page was misted with Turquoise Metallic Maya Mist, and then the embossings outlined with a white pen. Instead of covering a chipboard piece with patterned paper, I chose to mat the embossed chipboard butterfly with patterned paper instead. For the butterfly's antennae, I used a piece ofScroll Rubon.
I love piling on the 'pretty stuff' on my chipboard butterflies and on this page from the Butterfly Accordion Album, I layered a piece of Office Sheer with ribbon bows, velveteen leaves and a Suede Stitched Blossom.
A touch (or two) of Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins makes an already pretty flower a little more special.
Create an impact of a title by layering another piece of Office Sheer under alpha stickers and Noah Mini Alphabet Chipboards, which I inked and covered with clear dimensional lacquer.
Don't forget the sides of your box! Embellish one corner with products used on the box cover - ribbon bows, a Suede Stitched Blossom and a Vintage Pearl Trinket Pin.
So that's your Spring-ed box, specially hand-made by you for a special someone. Have fun, I sure did creating this one for you!
xoxo,
