I love everything acrylic so when Maya Road came out with their acrylic albums I was thrilled! One of my favorite things to do with acrylic is to heat emboss it! I know it may seem strange but the results are very cool! Here is an example using the new acrylic mini tab 2 ringed album.
Here's how to do it!
I chose to stamp just the edges with Versamark to make a "frame-like" look to my page. You can free-hand stamp or use a piece of paper to "mask" and only get the ink where you want it!
Next, add your embossing powder. Shake off the excess and heat. (Make sure to give the acrylic time to cool before touching)
Another idea is to use the Versamark pen and create your own design or spell a word!!
Not only can you create a "frame-like" look but you could heat emboss a whole page for a very cool, textured effect or outline a photo! There are so many different types of embossing powders to choose from the possiblities are endless. (Clear embossing gives you a frosted, icy look for example)
So the next time you are working with your Maya Road acrylic albums try heat embossing...you'll be hooked! Enjoy!!
(P.S. Here's a little extra technique to try...the photos in this album were embossed with my Cuttlebug embossing folders!! It's a quick and simple way to add a little something to your project!)
