Artsy Father's Day Card With Modeling Paste

Maya Road | Maya Road

Have you thought about what you're going to do for the men in your life on Father's Day (June 20th)? My father-in-law really likes to receive handmade cards. I made this "manly" card with some fun Maya Road goodies!

I had one page left over from a binder album, so I randomly glued on some letters from the Jonathan Mini Chipboard set. When the glue was dry, I applied modeling paste (an art supply) over and around the letters to create interesting texture. When the paste was dry, I spray-painted it black. The result is a very textured, dimensional background. I used the mega bottle cap to highlight the word "dad" on the front. The black & silver color scheme reminds me of my father-in-law's workshop--he's great with tools and home repairs. He likes to see pictures of my boys, so on the inside of the card I included a few small photos.

I'd love to see the cards that you're making for Father's Day!
