I had the opportunity to create this Love at Home banner project for the Maya Road booth this summer. I was instantly smitten with the birdcage and knew I wanted it to be shabby and weathered, but wanted to try a "new to me" technique called crackling.
I can see myself becoming easily addicted to this technique....the only hard part was choosing my paint colors and waiting patiently for the paint and crackle to dry. I first used a dark brown acrylic paint as my base, then added a coating of the crackle medium, and then topped it with my favorite Antique Lace acrylic paint...all that was left was to sit back and watch the magic happen....loved it.
Of course, my favorite part of any project is adding all of the toppings and finishing touches and with Maya Road, the finishing touches are so easy to put together, layer on, and make any project unique.
A little glitter, some netting, paint, and buttons dress up the chipboard to fit right in with my little birdcage.
Maya Road supplies used:
Vintage Crochet White Lace Trim
Decorative Scrolls Chipboard Set
Antique Keys Mini Chipboard Set
Birds of a Feather Mini Chipboard Set
